Bob Schmitt will share his Asian brush painting at this Saturday’s artist talk.

We invite you to meet Bob Schmitt this Saturday at his artist talk at 2:30.  Influenced by the Asian black ink painters, Bob uses very simple materials:  ink, brush, and papers.

You may have seen Asian brush paintings of scenes with beautiful calligraphy.  Bob’s paintings stand out because they are a beautiful style but about local scenes of the North Shore or Lake Pepin.

Bob is well known not only as a painter but also as a teacher which will make his artist talk very interesting.  Bob will be giving a bamboo painting demo and sharing about the ancient art form of Chinese painting.  Stop by, enjoy Bob‘s talk, and see his pieces.  You’ll be glad you did.

New pieces you must touch and feel to appreciate.

Tim Bernicki just brought in this exquisite small table and magnificent dining room table.  The finish on the dining room table is as breathtakingly beautiful as the piece itself.  You must sit at it.

Janet Olne has new baskets, too.  She blends all kinds of different fibers and natural materials into her double-wall baskets.  They are stunning.

Stop in.  See, touch, and feel Tim and Janet’s pieces.  You’ll be glad you did.

Just in - Gaylord’s new work, “The Map” and “The Surprise.”

I am excited to show you Gaylord Schanilec’s new work, “The Map.”  I wasn’t expecting to see this for quite a while, but yesterday we were the first ones to see it.

Gaylord has been working on this for years.  Although Gaylord based the work on current geographical maps, he also has a great deal of historical reference in it.

“The Map” has painting-like pieces inserted.  It is just beautiful and has the amazing detail for which Gaylord is famous.  We also just received Gaylord’s new piece, “The Surprise,” featuring his trusty boat.  You have to see this work.  Stop in and take a look at both pieces.  You’ll be glad you did.
