Sandra Shaughnessy will discuss and demonstrate her stoneware and porcelain pottery this Saturday.

We have a couple of events going on this weekend which we invite you to attend.  The first is Country Christmas.  The stores are decorated to the hilt.  You’ll find food and special events all over town.  Santa will be visiting.  Saturday evening the world famous Hot Flashes will be performing at the Widespot.  Come join the fun!

Saturday is also the first day of our new artist talk series.  Whether you are an artist, an art lover, or a collector, we hope you will listen and learn from each unique artist at these talks every upcoming Saturday.

At 2:30 Sandra Shaughnessy will discuss and demonstrate her stoneware and porcelain pottery that are soda-fired.  The result is an orange-warm pebbly surface.  Stop by, hear Sandra’s talk, and see her incredible pieces.  You’ll be glad you did.

Stop by for Mary Logue’s signing today…

Today, Saturday, November 10, Mary Logue will be signing her new children’s book, “Sleep Like a Tiger” and her mystery, “Killer Librarian” from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at Abode Gallery.  Yesterday Mary dropped in and read part of the book to her dog.  We captured the moment in video.

Mary’s life partner, National Book Award winner Pete Hautman, will also be at Abode signing his new books, Obsidian Blade” and “The Big Crunch” from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.

In the evening, Mary and Pete will be the featured writers for Word, an annual celebration of the written word at Widespot.  They will read from their latest books and ask each other hard questions about where they get their ideas for books and why they do what they do.  Order your tickets here.

Stop by Saturday, meet Mary and Pete, and see their books.  You’ll be glad you did.

Decorate with solid pewter miniature, round, or tree cut-out ornaments.

Now that we are past Halloween, let’s get serious about decorations for Christmas.  Look at these perennial favorites at Abode.  These solid pewter miniature ornaments created by Judy Vilmain from the East coast are under $15.

You will also see a limited number of fun pieces from Woof and Poof for holiday decor.

We are very excited to feature ornaments from Sandra Gerber, new artist from Elkhorn, Nebraska.  Her round and tree cut out ornaments exhibit multiple dimensions and great color.  All of them are under $30, and some are under $20.

This weekend is Women’s Weekend.  Stop by and see these ornaments.  You’ll be glad you did.
