Choose a handcrafted gift for everyday use.

After watching a few snowflakes fly yesterday, we must admit that the holidays are getting closer.  With this in mind, let’s see more gift ideas under $50.

Take a look at these wonderful diffusers from Paddywax.  These containers are handcrafted from recycled glass.  You’ll love the essential oils scent choices such as lemongrass, basil-cucumber, and Bordeaux fig.  These same scents are available in candles which are made from recycled wine bottles.  The candles are under $20 and the diffusers are under $30.

The second diffuser is locally-made by Sun Leaf Naturals with long-lasting pure essential oils.  The large bottle is under $30, and the small one is under $15.

For the lovers of our beautiful little Stockholm village, our beautiful new Stockholm mugs created by Peter Deneen are a gift that can be used every day.  Choose from solid or Dijon glaze for $20.

Stop by and see the new Stockholm mugs up close and smell the essential oils.  You’ll be glad you did.

Give a handcrafted gift that is always in style.

We are approaching the holidays, and it’s time to start thinking about gifts for special people.  Over the next few weeks, I will give you gift idea under $50.

The first idea is Paul Strauch’s handcrafted doorbells.  Each doorbell is hand cast in solid bronze.  Time and weather take a creative role as each doorbell develops its own rich patina. These doorbells are always in style and a wonderful gift for $39.

The next idea is a handcrafted, turn-wood wine stopper by local artist Curt Kemp from St. Paul.  Choose from the traditional exposed cork or the concealed cork which actually covers the bottle slightly.  Both are made from exotic woods, hand-turned, hand-finished, and one-of-a-kind for only $16.50.

Stop by and see the handcrafted doorbells and wine stoppers up close.  You’ll be glad you did.

Introducing Maria Dudley Kowalski

Maria Dudley Kowalski is an accomplished artist who works in watercolors and oil.  She and her husband recently moved from Laguna Beach, California, to beautiful downtown Maiden Rock.  Their home offers an inspiring view overlooking the water.

She has a very interesting perspective. Take a look at her series of 5 x 7 watercolors of local scenes.  Notice the larger California piece, a beautiful example of her large-scale pieces.

You will be seeing more of Maria at Abode.  She is working on a series of oils of local scenes to display here.  Stop by this weekend and see Maria’s pieces up close.  You’ll be glad you did.
