Marge works in hand-dyed silk, oils, and more. She loves color and her work reflects it.
Last weekend she dropped off a breathtaking new work, Essence of Stockholm made from hand-dyed silk.
You must see Marge‘s art to believe its beauty. Stop by soon and see it up close. You’ll be glad you did.

Introducing the photography of Chap Achen…
We are excited at Abode Gallery to feature the photography of Chap Achen, mostly in black and white with some digital. When I first saw Chap’s work, I was taken with the character of his work.
Photography is in Chap’s blood. He has been a photographer for forty-five years and his father was a photographer, too. This is reflected in the caliber of his photographs.
I am impressed with his unique perspective on local scenes, which is very, very different. Take a look at his breathtaking photographs. You’ll be glad you did.

Check out Lucy Elliot’s creative jewelry and shrines.
I’d like to introduce you to Lucy Elliot who has been in Stockholm as long as Stockholm has been a destination. One of our favorite artists, Lucy loves looking at and working in natural stones.
Lucy puts things together in unique ways. Take a look at her vintage button bracelet.
Many Abode customers have purchased Lucy’s shrines. In fact, some have become major collectors of her works. These are icon shrines but not your typical ones. They are very creative and lots of fun.
We are fortunate to have Lucy working every Monday at Abode Gallery. Stop in soon, meet her, and see her work in person. You’ll be glad you did.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour….
Last week we talked about Abode Gallery’s Design Studio, and this week I invite you to take a behind-the-scenes tour of International Market Square where the design work happens.
When I do design work, much of my time is spent at International Market Square. See some of my favorite places, including Unique by Design, Ceramic Tile Works, Ambiante Ltd., and Charles Ray.
These are only four of the dozens of showrooms that we can access at International Market Square. We use this vast selection to find just the right details for your home. We love helping you create your home. Discover how we can help you by e-mailing me or calling 715-442-2266. You’ll be glad you did.

Carla Thompson's sophisticated style has vibrant color and incredible patterns.
Carla Thompson's sophisticated style has vibrant color and incredible patterns. She paints on wood, both blocks and rougher pieces, and creates small decorative, wall mounts, and even furniture pieces.
What attracts me the most to Carla's works are the tongue-in-cheek, fun phrases which grace her paintings. My favorite is Shakespeare's "I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it." That phrase reflects my feelings about Stockholm.
Carla's distinctive art is on display now at Abode Gallery. Stop in and see it soon. You’ll be glad you did.

Gaylord Schanilec has just released his highly anticipated second piece from The River.
Gaylord Schanilec has just released his highly anticipated second piece from The River. It is exquisite.
The River is pictured by Gaylord Schanilec as a study of the animal life on the Mississippi. We frequently see him taking his boat out to do research for this project. Take a look at the meticulous process Gaylord uses to create these works.
The first piece from The River was Pelicans. Now we are excited to announce that Short Head Red Horse Fish is available for you to see at Abode. Stop in and see it soon. You’ll be glad you did.
