Join Us: Art on the Vine Opening Reception & Gallery Show

We're thrilled to introduce our upcoming gallery show and invite you to join us for the opening reception! For this event we've collaborated with Villa Bellezza Winery, 1420 3rd Street, Pepin, WI, to bring you a collection of work celebrating wine, food and the beauty of the Great River.

The “Art on the Vine” exhibition will take place at Villa Bellezza Winery from March 8-31, 2014, with the opening reception taking place on March 8 from 6:30-9:00pm. The free event is open to the public. More than 20 local and regional artist works have been selected, with almost 40 pieces on display and available for purchase.

You must see this stunning venue! The winery complex is designed in a Mediterranean style with several stucco and stone buildings, including a 250+ person event center, surrounding a central piazza — much like in a town square somewhere in Italy.

The winery makes the perfect backdrop for the "Art on the Vine" exhibition. This unique and stunning juried show consists of one of a kind works in oil, watercolor, pastel, wood, ceramic and multimedia.  Select artists will be honored at the opening gala, with recognition and awards presented including Vintner’s Choice, Curator’s Choice and People’s Choice. The evening will also include live painting, music from Twin Cities group Doo Da Day, artist meet & greet, and exceptional food samplings and wine tastings provided by the award winning winery.

There was extensive interest in the show from area artists. The Great River, along the West Coast of Wisconsin, has inspired artists for centuries. Considered some of the most beautiful scenery in the nation, and named, “Prettiest Drive in America” by Huffington Post, it is no surprise that exquisite galleries and award winning wineries have developed in this well-known artists enclave. Its close proximity to Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester and Eau Claire, make the area a destination for art enthusiasts.

The theme of the show was well received. As one of the artists, Maria Dudley Kowalski stated, “Like wine making, the process of making of art is a beautiful exploration. The final creation not only appeals to its creator but it inspires creativity in others.”

Artists in the show include:

Jeff Stern, Madison, WI (Oil)
Margy Balwierz, Beldenville, WI (Ceramics)
